2. LANDING ON JAN MAYEN
All landings by all visiting boats must apply in advance and further coordinate with the station commander before arrival.
This to ensure if there is availability in the program. There are periods with lack of capacity that will hinder ships to land. Scheduling conflicts must be avoided with already excising bookings or activity at the designated landing site.
(Due to safety reasons, this also applies for Norwegian vessels with Norwegian captains)
The station MUST be contacted at an early stage to determine if a visit on the island is possible or not. Jan Mayen is also a nature reserve that requires special considerations, both on land and sailing close to shore.
Due to extensive construction activities on Jan Mayen from the summer of 2025 through the winter of 2027/2028. Arrival and access to the island will be restricted and limited due to safety reasons.
DISCLAIMER
Please be advised that unforeseen circumstances may arise that could hinder or prevent a scheduled onshore visit to Jan Mayen. In such cases, cancellation of a landing at Jan Mayen may occur, even at short notice. We appreciate your understanding in the event of any cancellations.
Any cancellations will be made with the primary objective of ensuring safety, maintaining operational integrity, and protecting the environment..
